There is an attached, single-level parking lot with complimentary, first come first serve spots. Additionally, there is a public parking lot directly across the street with complimentary parking for the first hour. There is street parking surrounding the studio, with metered and non-metered spots. We recommend parking around the corner on either Kings Rd. or Orlando Ave.
There are over 40 metered spots directly outside our entrance, as well as free parking on Electric Avenue and in the surrounding area. To find our studio, you will enter through the alley. Our door is directly next to Intelligentsia Coffee.
Not a problem! You may cancel your class reservation free of charge up to 12 hours in advance and the class will be credited back to you. If you cancel after this time you will be charged as follows: If you late cancel a class (or no show) and you are using a class pack, a class will be deducted from the remaining classes in your class pack. If you late cancel and have a monthly unlimited account you will be charged a fee of $25. If you don’t show up to class (and don’t late cancel), you will be charged the price of a single class ($45).
For private sessions, we have a 24 hour cancellation policy. If you cancel a private session within the 24 hour window (or no show) you will be charged for that session.
Cancelled classes cannot be switched within the 12 hour window. All sales are final. Classes are non-refundable, exchangeable or transferable.
If you need to cancel a reservation, log into MindBody, go to My Info, click My Schedule and click Cancel next to the class time. If you have trouble canceling or have any questions, email (email@example.com) or call the studio!
We strongly encourage everyone sign up and pay in advance, but you can always call last minute or walk-in to see if there’s a free reformer! Our early morning classes tend to book 1-2 weeks in advance, so grab your spot ahead of time!
Reservations are made in advance online through our MindBody scheduling page or our mobile apps. You can click “Schedule”, “Book a Class” or click here. You can find our apps in the iPhone App Store or Google Play (search for Speir Pilates). You can also call the studio and book through the front desk manager.
If you are 5 minutes late to a sold out class, we will give your spot away to the next person on the waitlist. However, we know LA traffic is unpredictable, so if you are running late call us and let us know and we will NOT give your spot away! We can only hold your reformer for the first 10 minutes of class. After 10 minutes, you will not be allowed into class as it is past the warm-up, and thus unsafe for your body and distracting to the rest of the class. There are no exceptions to this rule.
If your favorite class is sold out, definitely waitlist it! If a spot opens up, you will be added to the class in the order of where you stood on the waitlist.
We suggest you wear comfortable clothing to move in, along the same lines as a yoga class. We prefer that you wear tighter fitting pants or tops so your clothes don’t hang or move in a manner that obstructs the instructor’s view of your form (you want the instructor to see what your abs are doing!). You will not be wearing shoes during your workout; instead, we require socks with grip for safety and sanitary reasons. If you do not have socks with grip, we sell them in the studio.
If you are pregnant, get your doctor’s approval before beginning this or any other exercise program. If your doctor clears you, then yes, you can join us! We ask that you let the instructors know that you are pregnant before class so we can suggest modifications and variations to your workout. In addition, we highly recommend signing up for private sessions with Andrea Speir or one of our other pre-natal specialists, so they can give you hands-on attention and personal guidance for your fitness regimen as you progress along.
We prohibit cell phones during class. If you have an emergency situation, please excuse yourself from class to handle it. Thank you in advance for being respectful of your fellow classmates and teacher!
Yes! The minimum age for group classes is 17. The reason for this is your spine isn’t fully developed until 17, so we want to make sure your body is as protected in those growing years as possible! If you are 16, you may attend class with a parent/guardian present for the duration of the class (they can take class or hang out on the bench), and sign the waiver. We do welcome teens of any age to take private sessions next door in The Annex. Since these are one-on-one lessons, the instructor can ensure the body and spine of the teen are in perfect form, and the exercises are tailored to exactly what they need. We do require the parent/guardian to sign a liability waiver for this, but they do not need to be present for the private session.
Classes in your class packs and unlimited packages are non-transferable.
